Worship and Teaching
Weekly corporate worship is an integral part of the life of Central Church of Christ. Over 300 members as well as many visitors from upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina gather for worship of Jesus Christ. Our campus at 2052 North Church Street Place in Spartanburg, SC hosts worship services each Sunday morning at 10 AM. Along with this vibrant time of worship, a full program of Bible classes and Sunday School is offered 9 AM for everyone from birth through senior adulthood. In addition, during our worship gatherings age-appropriate programs for children age 5 and younger are offered. Also, Central Church of Christ offers a vibrant Wednesday night time of Bible teaching and programming for all ages. A special focus is our youth ministry which gathers in the “Filling Station” each Sunday at 9 AM and Wednesday at 7 PM to encourage young people grades 7-12 to love Jesus and live for Him.

At Central, the statement “Every Member is a Minister” is more than an ideal, but a reflection of a life lived 24/7 in service to Jesus Christ. We believe that the life of a follower of Jesus Christ requires more than a once-a-week, Sunday-morning “fix” of Christianity. We encourage each of our members to connect to the life of the church each week in three key areas: Worship and Teaching, Community, and Evangelism.
Community
“They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42. We were made for God’s family! To be all that God designed us to be, we need to be connected to other members of our church family. In community, we pursue God, care for one another, serve one another and even celebrate one another. LIFEGroups are a key component to building community at Central Church of Christ. Many LIFEGroups meet each week throughout our area, in homes, on campuses, coffee shops, and at the church building. Through the process of fellowship, friendship, study, prayer and ministry together, LIFEGroups build up the body of Christ at Central Church Of Christ. Also, in 2007, Central began a dedicated ministry to college age adults with Tuesday Bible discussions on the campus of Spartanburg Methodist College at 9 PM and a weekly 7 PM Wednesday gathering at Starbucks on Pine Street in Spartanburg for “Coffee and Conversation”.

Evangelism
We were made to serve others. Following the scriptural directive of Acts 1:8 to “be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”, Central Church Of Christ seeks to actively impact our world for Jesus Christ with over 35 programs, ministries and missions right here in Spartanburg, in the Upstate of South Carolina, into Western North Carolina, and all the way across the world.
The desire of our heart is to honor God in our worship and teaching, service and outreach by welcoming, loving and making disciples of all the people He places in our care. We hope you will join us as we seek after God’s will for His people in this place, at this time, for this generation.
